Il y a brocantes et
brocantes ….
Avec le printemps, la saison des
brocantes a démarré !
Flea markets come in all shapes and sizes ……
Spring is here and with it the flea market
season has started. There are flea markets where the stalls go on endlessly,
and I bring back bags full of old haberdashery, beautiful china, lovely boxes, fun
decorative objects and sometimes an old toy in need of a bit of mending…
And then we get… Well, the advertised name, “Three borders flea market” (since the market was situated where the borders of
three European countries meet), sounded promising. However, when we got there,
we found this building… and inside, barely a dozen tables, with the hall
smelling strongly of beer and frying
oil. Yet, shame on the flea market
addict who leaves empty-handed! Each of
us ended up buying a petit point tapestry, as we collect these pieces in order
to make tote bags (here is one I made earlier, strongly inspired by Cécile Franconie). And even our mascot found quite a treasure in the tin box she had
picked out because she liked the roses on the lid!
