Le bonheur, c’est les Puces…

Et voici ce que j’ai ramené des Puces du Printemps à Metz ! De la mercerie ancienne avec un petit meuble pour ranger ces trésors. Une blouse de travail en pilou (je l’adapterai pour mon travail à moi !), un kelsch alsacien (ne sera-t-il pas superbe pour la déco de Noël ?), une housse à couette allemande art déco. Encore un torchon hongrois en lin (pour servir de petite nappe bien sûr, trop joli pour un torchon !), un chemin de table russe (celui avec les grandes roses), des petites serviettes jaunes bien printanières… et, la pièce de résistance, cette nappe brodée de… marguerites au ruban !

 

Happiness is … going to the flea market

This is what I brought back from the recent flea market in Metz – a French city near the German border. Old haberdashery and some storage for it. A French work shirt (which I will transform for my own occupational needs), a piece of kelsch, that sturdy fabric from Alsace (just the right red for Christmas!), a German 1930s duvet cover, very Art Deco…Moreover, some spring yellow doilies, a Hungarian kitchen towel which of course will be upgraded to a small table cloth, a Russian table runner (that is the one with the fat roses), and…. best of all, this French table cloth with its ribbon embroidery of daisies, marguerites in French!
